28 June 2022 Special Meeting
Parish Councillors are hereby summoned to a meeting of Neasham Parish Council on Tuesday 28 June 2022, 6:30PM, in Neasham Reading Room to transact the business listed in the agenda below.
Members of the public are entitled to attend Parish Council Meetings as a non-participating attendee (unless confidential matters are under discussion) but may speak only at the invitation of the Chair. Those wishing to speak on any matter during the meeting must give written notice giving brief details to the Clerk or Chair at least two days prior to the meeting.
Agenda
- To declare that as a Special Meeting the meeting has been duly convened on proper notice at the request of the Chair
- To record those present and note any apologies for absence
- To record that Councillor Weighell has been excused attendance at the meeting because of his personal interest in the matter to be considered
- To consider and if thought fit to pass a Special Resolution proposed by the Chair and seconded by the Vice-chair, that:
“In accordance with the requirements of section 249 subsections (7) & (8) of the Local Government Act 1972, the Council marks the eminent services to the Parish of Councillor John William Weighell, as a person of distinction, over a continuous period of more than 35 years following his election to the Council on 7 May 1987. The Council formally acknowledges such services in the exercise of the powers vested in it by subsection (5) of section 249 of the said Act
(Note: A Special Resolution must be passed by not less than 2/3rds of the members who vote on it)
